The Pew Institute for Ocean Science at the University of Miami was just approved as an official NGO observer at CITES. Dr. Ellen Pikitch, The Institute’s Executive Director, will attend representing The Institute with a specific interest in a proposed great white shark listing in addition to gaining insight about other ocean species in relation to CITES listings. The 13th meeting of the Conference of the Parties will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. |
