Fragile ecosystems need good stewardship
Our opinion: healthy oceans will produce sustanable fisheries

Many saltwater fisheries are in bad shape today, but while commercial and recreational overfishing share much of the blame, other factors have contributed to the oceans' decline. Land-side pollution in waterways that flow into the sea, coastal development that destroys fish hatcheries, warming oceans -- even hurricanes -- all take their toll.
