Dr. Ellen Pikitch elected AAAS Fellow
Dr. Ellen K. Pikitch, Professor and Executive Director of the Institute for Ocean Conservation Science at Stony Brook University was elected a 2015 Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Pikitch was specifically honored “for distinguished contributions to the fields of fisheries and conservation science, particularly development and application of quantitative methods to sustainably manage exploited marine fishes.” In a tradition stretching back to 1874, fellows are recognized for their extraordinary achievements across disciplines at the AAAS Annual Meeting, which will be held in Washington, D.C. on 13 February 2016.
